Graduate school is not without its challenges, but I think the education I received at USCA well prepared me for a competitive program. In August 2016, I began a Masters at the Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce at the University of Kentucky, focusing on international development, and comparative politics. At Connor & Connor, I used the research skills I acquired as a history major to draft memos, court documents, and meeting summaries. In March 2016, I was hired full-time as a paralegal with Connor & Connor, LLC, a law firm in Aiken that focuses on nursing home negligence cases. As she says “all we have to do is be persistent, cherish the good, work through the bad and enjoy the ride until it’s over.”Īfter graduating from USC Aiken, I interned with the Aiken County Government Risk Management Office and worked part-time with the USC Aiken Athletics Department. Learning from others and taking advantage of opportunities have been a major part of Alesha’s journey, and thank goodness she has made some lasting footprints of her own.

Along the path she was also active in several service organizations and led the way in helping others who were in need.Īs she was navigating her way, she credits many professors and staff members who influenced her journey in a positive way.

She held many influential roles, among them were: freshmen orientation leader, campus tour guide, resident assistant, minority student mentor, student newspaper writer, and was selected Homecoming queen by her peers. During her collegiate career as an undergraduate at the University of South Carolina Aiken, she majored in Communications and threw herself into University Life.
